I Thought This Was Fun But......

I am Emma Woodhouse!

Take the Quiz here!

I must confess that with as much reading as I do I have never read a Jane Austen book. I tried once but couldn't get through it so I gave up. On the redeeming side of this total lack of education, I did tell Mary that I was going to try and read them all this winter. Or at least get a few under my belt. This is quite an embarrassing admission considering how well read I consider myself. Wish me Luck! (Besides I need to find out who Emma Woodhouse is?)

I LOVE Jane Austen! She has got to be my favorite "classic" author. Ever. There's a great new(erish) compilation I've seen at Barnes and Noble that has all of her works in one book. And, as much as I love her, I have to admit I've only read 3 of them. One you get into it the stories are great and the language makes more sense. Good luck reading them and let us all know what you think!!! I'd love to hear your thoughts on them.

psssst... I've never read an Austen novel either. I think Keersten Jensen would disown me as her friend if I admitted the same thing. I've seen movies inspired by her writing. Does that count? :)Maybe I'll join you along your reading way. Which one are you going to read first?

I love Jane Austen! I hope you have a good time reading them. I would suggest starting with Emma because it is shorter than some of the others and has a familiar story line that is easy to follow. Pride and Prejudice is my favorite and I hope my character turns out to be Elizabeth Bennett.

I've never read Austen either. Although that probably doesn't surprise you. But that you haven't? That is a surprise. Maybe you could let us know which one you're going to read first. I could read along. Maybe even have an online book discussion. But not Pride and Predjudice. I'm sick of all the hype about Mr. Darcy.

I'm Elinor Dashwood...she's a boring character...it's a good fit. LOL!

I hereby disown Ali as my friend. Oh, and you too Julie. How could you say such a thing?
I can totally see how you are an Emma MaryAnn, in a very good way. I will read along with you (being the crazy Austen fanatic that I am.) I love Emma. Have you seen the movie with Gwenyth Paltrow? It is very cute.

Sorry, Keersten. I knew I was taking the chance that you would read this. But i'm going to take the leap and read.

I loved this quiz! I turned out to be Bunny. You know, the skanky one who wears next to nothing, sleeps around and shows her emotional side with anger and violence.

Jane Ausen is the best! I love her so much! When can we have a book club devoted to her? I call dibs on hosting it the first month at the local coffee shop. That way I can release all my emotionally related sob stories for all to hear. It's like she knew me and picked my brain. Just how does she write women so well?

Ii can't invite you to my club unless I know who you are! I'm still having a hard time with her, her women seem weak and whiny to me so far! I'm still trudging on and Im almost finished with Emma.

Sleazy easy dirty and flirty. That is most definately the kind of Jane Austen charactor I would be. Hell, that is probably what I would be if it were socially acceptable.

I am going to give you a hint as to what the rest of the book is about so you you don't have to finish it.

Basically the war breaks out at the same time, the girl finds out she is in love. The other dude in the story is in love with her though and she doesn't know it. The first dude is a total prick. The second dude keeps his mouth shut for too long. When he finally says something of importance, it is too late. Of coarse, the book couldn't end that way so by some miraculous intervention, the girl calls off the rest of her life with guy #1. Later you find out that he wasn't faithful so it is justified. The second prospect moves quickly into first place and has a rather awkward meeting with her family of whom he has known his whole life. They court. Just as the wedding is about to begin, thousands of ninjas jump out from every one of their fantastic hiding spots and kill him. You didn't even know they were there.

Girl is alone. Again. Bummer.
